Washington Nationals Keep Asking Stephen Strasburg To Stop Bleeding...
• June 5-6, 2010: The Washington Nationals drop two of a three-game weekend series with the Cincinnati Reds, so that when the Nats' '09 no.1 overall pick, pitcher Stephen Strasburg makes his much-anticipated MLB debut on June 8th, the then 21-year-old right-hander is asked immediately to stop a two-game losing streak. Strasburg allows 2 runs on 4 hits, striking out 14 over 7.0 innings pitched in a 5-2 win over Pittsburgh...

• June 23-27, 2010: Washington Nationals' starter Stephen Strasburg loses a 6/23 start against the Kansas City Royals in which he receives no run support, 1-0 Royals in spite of the Nats' rookie having allowed just 1 run on 9 hits, and the Nationals proceed to drop three-straight to Baltimore so that Strasburg's asked to stop a four-game losing streak in his June 28th start on the road in Atlanta. He's the Big Train II, for sure.
And on only a slightly related topic, anyone have recommendations for bars or restaurants that show Nats games in DC or Silver Spring? Would like to go out somewhere to watch the game tonight but try someplace other than R.F.D., hopefully somewhere a little quieter
Lucky the Orioles had a day game.
I think any place with a tv in the bar area should show the Nats since Strasburg is throwing. Unless there’s a Yankees or Sox game available.
See fanshot on the right.
I’ll be at Momo’s where there’s both Reds fans and supposedly Nats fans tonight. That’s on the 1300 block of U St., NW. Clint and the Nat Pack will be in Penn Quarter somewheres. You can probably google it somewheres. One I went to in Arlington was just meh for fan spirit, but I did win free tickets to the next Saturday game.
On a desperate search for Sunshine at Nats Park.
I would have to fly to get there.
So, so very out of the way and not easily Metro accessible. Probably Branch Avenue to some rarely departing bus. I’m talking about something downtown, near the stadium or in one of the hip neighborhoods like Arlington, Columbia Heights or even Alexandria.
