We've all seen it. We've all heard it. "Strasmas." "Jesus Strasburg." Other such coined phrases. The problem is that it's misleading.
Strasburg isn't Jesus. He doesn't come and save everyone every day forever. That's what closers are for (although Capps is more of a John the Baptist than an actual Jesus -- Storen maybe?). Nonetheless, the Christmas comparison isn't bad. You just have to reconsider who Strasburg is in the analogy.
Strasburg is Santa Claus.
He comes around every so often and gives people lots of presents while they gather together and celebrate the family and larger community. But he only does it if his hard-working elves (the position players) are in fact working hard too.
And when the night is too foggy, Mrs. Claus (Rizzo) makes Santa Stras turn everything over to Miguel Batista the Red Nosed Reindeer.
