Two things
  1. Has anyone heard from Allen (?) Kha (?) this evening? He was going to try to come up for the game and buy a cheapie tik, but they’ve apparently sold out, so I was wondering if he got in…
  2. Ian Desmond OWNS Joe Blanton!

8.0 scoreless innings is a higher standard than their normal performance. It’s been more normal to have the Garrett Mock experience. 4 scoreless innings and then things falling apart in the 5th or 6th. Or 7 pretty good innings (not necessarily scoreless) and hanging onto a 3-2 lead and then things falling apart in the 8th.

His last name means “To interfere” in German. Well, he certainly interfered with the Phillies’ attempt to win.

I could not resist my Bob Dylan reference since Dylan’s original last name was Zimmerman.

Mr. Walkoff missed me by a tiny bit. I called his shot, he went a little to far to the right.

I knew the walkoff was coming, I said as much to the (fairly reasonable) phillies fan in front of me, I just wanted to catch it. Why’d he have to hit the grass instead of the 100 section?

By the way, on the Phillies blog, they are calling Ryan Zimmerman...

“The best hitting 3rd baseman in the league.” Finally, some R.E.S.P.E.C.T!!!

And he’s not just a good hitting 3rd baseman but a Gold Glove winner as well.
