Wire Taps: Washington Nationals' GM Mike Rizzo [Points To Head] Trade Deadline Edition...

3:13 pm EST UPDATE:
"@Ken_Rosenthal: "#WhiteSox still working on Dunn. Would be Jackson-plus. Source: "This thing is far from over."
3:00 - As of 2:55pm EST the Washington Nationals have not dealt their big middle-of-the-order bat Adam Dunn, but as the 4:00 pm EST Non-Waiver Deadline approaches, ESPN.com's Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) is reporting on Twitter that talks are ongoing:
"Heard this: The Nationals are still talking trade with several teams on Dunn, as we get closer to the deadline."
SI.com's Jon Heyman (@SI_JonHeyman) just Tweeted that the Nats and White Sox are still talking:
"[Edwin] Jackson for Dunn is still a possibility. but Nationals want #Chisox to add another player or 2"
An unnamed "source" told FOXSports.com's Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) within the last hour that they think Dunn stays in DC, but Mr. Morosi offered the caveat at 2:00pm EST that, "...two hours is an eternity on July 31." Mr. Morosi's colleague at FOXSports.com, Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) reported earlier that there was some non-Dunn chatter going on as well, as he wrote about the Red Sox' pursuit of a left-handed reliever:
"Source: #RedSox inquired about at least 2 LH relievers today: #Rockies' Beimel, #Nationals' Burnett. Rockies' asking price too high."

Ladson's update

Except I think they'll actually sign Dunn...
Two picks was fine in ‘06, but it’s time to start winning, and losing Dunn for the promise of future success will not sit well, if I might speculate as to the pulse of NatsTown…

Now Soriano was like one of my favorite Nats.
Only guy I ever bought a T-shirt for. After the offensive fail of Season 1, he was a revelation for me. I wanted them to keep him. Of course at that time, I didn’t really get the arbitration stuff or understand the value of prospects as much.
On a desperate search for Sunshine at Nats Park.
I was all for trading Soriano
at the time, not realizing the draft picks the Nats would gain when he left via Free Agency. Soriano’s 46 bombs and 41 steals were a thing of beauty though. Soriano still hasn’t put up a better OPS anywhere else either.
I will gladly eat crow if Brandon Jones does well for the 49ers in 2010.

From BleacherReport
There’s apparent interest in Mariners’ reliever Brandon League but if League is moved, ESPN’s Jayson Stark doesn’t believe it will be to the Rays. Stark says the Rays probably will not make a move at the deadline.
If what Stark says is true, than the Adam Dunn deal is probably to the White Sox.
Earlier: The Nationals are apparently getting close to dealing Adam Dunn. Could be either the White Sox or Rays.
Rosenthal says League to Rays or Dodgers.
