Game 121: Nice.
- Full Pull: John Lannan (+5.0%) goes 5.1 IP with 2ER, 5K and 1BB, but Joel Peralta (+13.5%) has to come in for one pitch to bail him out of a two-on jam with a foul-pop DP (+13.5%) to finish the 6th. Tyler Clippard (+3.4%) strikes out the side in the 7th, but gets into a jam in the 8th--Sean Burnett (+11.8%) gets the big out.
- All this, and Dunn-D? Michael Morse (+7.9%) goes yard in the 2nd for the early lead (+11.7%), and robs a game-tying two-run hit by snaring a liner in the 8th (+11.8%).
- Big Willie Style: Willie Harris (+1.0%) hits a two-run shot to rob Drew Storen (+1.4%) of a save chance, and makes a spectacular diving catch in LF.
- More hope for the future: Ian Desmond (+10.5%) is 1-2 with a walk, while Wilson Ramos (-4.7%) is 0-4 with some long ABs and a nice play throwing out the lead runner at 3rd on a sac bunt attempt (+11.0%).

I'll put it here...
…but any word on the Potomac stuff? Watching Jason Marquis vs. Philly tomorrow could be hazardous to our health.
On a desperate search for Sunshine at Nats Park. In Rizzo and Ramos we trust.
Marquis vs. Halliday is just... brutal.
Start hoping for a rainout.

It is better
to sacrifice Marquis than forfiet and give them two wins with Halliday vs. Strasburg. It will be very very interesting to see how Strasburg does vs. that extrememly patient, dangerous line-up.

That is crazy
Halliday can be beat, and Strasburg has just been working the rust off, he can beat anyone
Aim for the head baby Jesus
Nice win for the Nats...especially at Turner Field...a rarity for any team this year.
Pretty good outing by Lannan and no defensive clowns in the field today.
But I’m especially happy for Willie’s success today…in his home state,,,in front of his family…and all wired up.

A clean-slate ballgame
No Riggles, No Desi’s, No Willies.
No facepalms.

Nice to have clean D and some strong plays.
More than half of the highlight clips on at-bat were defense, I think. Good game.

Who is this new pitcher? And what has he done with John Lannan?
Seriously, where did John Lannan 2.0 (or is it 3.0) come from? He’s clearly got his mojo back. 3-0 with a 3.09 ERA in four starts. Not bad at all.

Now if he can just go a little deeper into each start
then he would make a strong bid to stay in the rotation next season.

This isn't John Lannan 2.0
This is John Lannan 1.1 after a virus scan and a defrag.
