Nice start for J-Zimm to work around the leadoff walk

Disappointing night for them to be playing the Redbirds. Was hoping I’d be able to watch the MASN feed, as I’m sure there must be some Bryce Harper stuff (and focus on J-Zimm). Unfortunately, despite Extra Innings, it’s blacked out here and I’m stuck with the Cardinals’ feed.

The big hubbub around here the past few days

Has been about “The Secret Weapon” (Jose Oquendo) putting up a stop sign the other night in Pittsburgh with one out on an infield single that kind of got away from Ronny Cedeno in the ninth. The hit loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, down a run. Holliday and Lopez followed with infield popups to end the game. So they’re running through him a little more, which Yadi did there. Cardinals announcers saying it’s good scouting because Molina knows Nyjer’s arm….. I’m thinking that they know Nyjer’s baseball IQ.

I hate to think of how it helps the Nats

But there’s an excellent chance that the Cardinals won’t have their top three hitters in the lineup tomorrow. I’d imagine Pujols gets a day off, Holliday will get a day off, and Rasmus is still being limited to PH duty. I’d say that Rasmus is the most likely to play tomorrow, to be honest.

Gone day to day 5 or 6 times that I can count this year. Really good when in the lineup (.270/.353/.504 with 19 HR) and has all the tools. Larussa loved to bench him, particularly against lefties. But since they dealt Ludwick away, he hadn’t been doing that.
