Rob Dibble Done With Nationals, Says Team Source
According to a team spokeman, Rob Dibble will no longer broadcast Washington Nationals games. The spokeman said the decision was "permanent."
DIbble has made news twice in the last month.
First, he made inappropriate comments about two women sitting in the President's Club talking during the game. Dibble suggested they were talking about shopping, rather than the game, and that their husbands shouldn't bring them to the game next time.
Dibble issued an apology via his blog on MASN several days later, then on a broadcast the following day.
More recently, on his XM show, Dibble called into question Stephen Strasburg's fortitude after the pitcher was removed from the game with an elbow injury, only later to reveal the future of the franchise needed to have ligament replacement surgery.
The source said there was no permanent replacement as of yet, and studio co-host Ray Knight would continue as the color analyst at least through the end of the current road trip with play-by-play man Bob Carpenter.

So THAT's why El Duque walked. He's going to be the next color commentator!
Oh, and, yay for no more Dibble.

I don't think the Strasburg comments warranted firing
I just don’t think he brought much analysis to the game. I liked having him as a homer fan, but I think we can get better.

We better get better
I mean Knight is like having a senile drunk uncle who is staring at the sky. At least Dibble knew how to have fun.
I agree with this
Dibble was/is also better at finishing his, um, his…. sentences. Knight’s fine in the studio, in the booth, not so much
Agree Also...
Dibble had energy, was a homer, and gave the television crew at least one member who wasn’t collecting Social Security.
Dibble was cocky, loud and occasionally stuck his foot in his mouth – anyone surprised? But firing him? It comes across as petty.
I think it’s just Rizzo using the opportunity to keep cleaning out Bowden’s house.

That's an interesting angle about "cleaning out Bowden's house"...
…and there may be a little validity to it.
On a desperate search for Sunshine at Nats Park. In Rizzo and Ramos we trust.
Once again the PC (nazi) Police strike!
so instead, we get a kiss-ass color man who won’t create waves or give honest opinions, as Dibble did.
Way to bring Nazis into it and completely invalidate anything else you had to say....

Maybe not the best way to say it...
….but I’m hoping that they find somebody who can add more personality than Ray Knight as well. Not sad to see Dibble go, but I’m not happy about the way that this happened because this is just further dividing a not but so big fan base.

FINALLY!
As a Met fan in Richmond I’ve been rooting for the Nats to be successful. But watching a Nats game with Dibble in the booth is PURE TORTURE. If the FBI want terror suspects to spill all their secrets they need to lock them in a room with Rob Drivel playing on an endless loop… I’d put my money on world peace within an hour.
Now if the Caps would do the same thing with Craig Laughlin.
My cup is 3/4 empty, How 'bout yours?
What's wrong with Locker?
Locker’s a homer but he’s not as much as a knucklehead as Dibble has been.
Surely there will be great rejoicing for all those opposing fans who could not stand Dibble.

I won’t turn this into a Capital debate… but Laughlin’s voice has some components that only dogs can hear. If not for the voice and the “biscuit in the basket” (really, 10+ years and you can’t come up with anything better than that) I’d say he has improved to “TOLERABLE”. When the Caps sucked he was intolerable because like most color guys he over-inflated thier “upside”… but his basic hockey knowledge is miserable when you consider he PLAYED THE GAME. I’m pretty sure he could have been replaced by a Quebec housewife and nobody would have known the difference…. but that’s just my opinion.
