Are the Nationals really going for Prince Fielder? FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi have reported in the last two days that Washington's been talking about adding the 27-year-old first baseman in spite of the fact that they have Adam LaRoche under contract and Chris Marrero potentially on the cusp of making it to the majors on a full-time basis. How will the Nats solve their offseason needs? Good stuff

A tempered discussion on Fielder, which is probably appropriate, but the end was a bit off I think. It seems to me the situation on who plays where in the lineup next year depends a lot more on whether they make the splash with Fielder/Pujols than it does on whether LaRoche is healthy.

via FOXSports; Scientists in Europe have just released information that should the tetonic mass known as Prince Fielder abruptly shift to either coast, the earth is likely to spin off its axis by at least 15 degrees, causing massive polar icecap melting & the destruction of the majority of humankind in the Northern Hemisphere. Reports coming in from Asia tend to concur with the initial reports.

I still think Cuddyer really makes sense for the Nats

He strikes out less than 100 times per year, hets around .275 with 20HR. I still like a Harper Werth Cuddyer OF

But as we have been discussing in a thread below, it would likely take a monumental offer to get the Bucs to part ways with their FOF. However, if the Nats were to sign Fielder, “could” our offer “begin” with Michael Morse? Obviously, it would take much more than that though.

Is Chase Hughes no longer working for CSN? Didn't he used to do the Zuckerman videoblogs?

I can’t believe Hughes is on the Reyes bandwagon. To me that would be the contract most likely to turn into Werth II. No, thanks.

Thanks for posting this Patrick – nice work! I do think (from a technical side) that the audio seems to be a problem – the voices are not equalized at all and it’s a bit jarring.
