I saw a little bit of it. Phillies defense has not been all there so far. Howard missed on an opportunity to get the lead runner on a sacrifice bunt that might have saved one or more of the three running in the Mae’Stros had. Manuel had the infield back with one out against Bill wall with a runner on third. Halladay induced a ground ball right at the second basemen that would have been an easy out at the plate had the infield been in. Manuel also elected to pitch to Bourne with one out and an open base. Bourne made them pay with a triple and then scored on a close play at the plate on a sac fly.
All in all, Halladay, Manuel, the defense, and the Phillies offense have been outplayed by the Astros to this point. Hope they can keep it up.

I don’t have access to the full library, or didn’t figure out how to do it. So I searched on Getty Images/Roy Halladay on google and hoped that I had found something that would work. Apparently it didn’t. I know few people read the Fanshots; they usually languish on the sidelines. So, I thought that I would get this thread going for those who were interested. If I’m out of line, please let me know so that I can improve my behavior next time.

I used that site for some of my posts, it’s all creative commons photos. They’re all fan photos, so quality is mixed but they make it easy to cite and everything.
I changed it, and I still got booted off the front page!
Yikes. Well, once I made this Post the Phillies started their comeback. Now we’ll see what happens to them.

I was out and about and editing this through my phone when you changed the image...
So it took a few minutes to take it off the front page and you were changing the pic simultaneously it seems. No Yikes, just a crossing of signals, sorry.
Aside from the copyright violation which could cost the SB Nation a bit o’ $ if anyone spotted it and complained, I also have friends who are photographers trying to make a living and “borrowing” images hurts them, so I try not to do it whenever possible. Sorry to be the copyright police, but it’s necessary.
Like dcRoach says, wikicommons is a great source for free use stuff, and when you post stories the photos we have licensed are available. Sorry for the longer-than-necessary response, but wanted to be clear rather than just do it and not say why.

No worries at all.
I just wanted to make sure that it was purely the copyright issue, which I did my best to navigate, but clearly did not do a good job. Thanks for policing this issue because I would hate for SB Nation to get in trouble for me trying to experiment with getting some OT traffic going. I think my new move may be to setup and OT Fanshot on some of the late games and link to some of the other intriguing SBNation communities when I do that.
I don’t think I can generate enough words for the Fanposts and I think these aren’t deserving of being that “sticky” on the front page. But an OT thread for non-MLB baseball would be a good place for me to put some of the minors stuff instead of the gamethreads.
Are you cool with me putting these on the front page provided that I respect copyright issues? Don’t want to get too off message.

Having Brett Myers pitch this well against them only makes it sweeter.
This game shows you how efficiency is just as important as ERA. Since Halladay was down and over 100 pitches after 6 with a weak offense. Manuel pulled him. The Philly bullpen than proceeded to immediately give up 3 runs. On the other hand, Myers pitched efficiently and hit effectively, going 2-2 with a sac bunt (I think). So he has been able to last long enough to give the ball to the better arms in his bullpen where Halladay did not.
