Wire Taps: Washington Nationals, Jayson Werth, NY Mets' Ownership, Bryce Harper = Superman?
• Programming Notes: Still steamed? Is a day off a good thing for your Nationals fandom? Would you rather have another game today to potentially remove the taste of the three-game sweep and 1-7 roadtrip from NatsTown's collective mouth? Does the prospect of a three-game stint with the San Diego Padres provide reason for hope? What sort of changes would Jayson Werth like to see? I'd like to know...When's Zimmerman coming back again? I think I read somewhere it was "mid-June"?:

Of course. How did I not realize that back when I played?

It looked bad at the time, but he was totally covering
covering home plate with his legs at weird angles. Can’t blame Cousins for running hard into him, though. It was for the win in extra innings.

I think it was avoidable.
Buster didn’t even make the catch – the ball was visible on the ground away from him – and there was actually a clear path to the plate if Cousins had chosen to take it. Of course, everything looks different 1) from the field and b) when a game is on the line, so, as always, your mileage may vary.
optimism or GTFO.

yeah it definitely was
you saw Cousins even have to go back after the collision and touch the plate because he only went for Posey.
Probably does need to be some sort of rule change however I doubt there will be any.
Whupass, chime in?
as a former catcher, what’s your take on this?
Neyer sets out the situation and argument pretty well. I think Cousins misevaluated the situation (Posey was in front of the plate, and didn’t have possession), but IMHO it was an understandable (and within the rules) decision in the heat of the moment.
Brain: "Pinky, are you pondering what i'm pondering?"
Pinky: "Yes, but isn't a cucumber that small called a gherkin?"
So, instead of hugging it out, the Nats are going
to shout it out! That will surely lead to better batting! Hahahahaha…sob.
Outlook: Dismal

Nats vs. Padres offenses -- the resistable force vs. the movable object.
First one to score once it’s an official game wins (to counter the Nats’ pattern of allowing first-inning runs).

"We're here in Nationals Park with a zero - zero tie in the 17th inning"
UGH.
I fully expect the Padres to hit their stride against the Nats. I was wrong aboot the Giants, I hope I’m wrong here too.
What to learn for this post?
Goblin shark meat is good.
The Cousins/Posey dance is not advisable for young folk.
Whupass played catcher.
The Padres look to kick some butt this weekend.
