Why is Solis in Class A?
How can he be a quick riser if he has to go through all A, AA and AAA. Put him in AA right now, he was drafted ready for it and is even more ready for it now.
Skins rule
He's only three starts in with Hagerstown after a late start due to injuries...
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him move up relatively quickly, but a late start will probably delay the move a bit. Does look impressive (in the box scores at least). Still think he’s probably a quicker-to-rise prospect like he was desrcribed when he was drafted.

Gotta master every level.
Zim should be ready for AA any day now.

Why is Ankiel playing so much?
It doesn’t help us win now and it doesn’t help develop for the future. This deference to underperforming veterans is completely unproductive. Bernadina is better right now and when he does experience “growing pains” at least fans would feel there is a point to it. Ankiel is both terrible and pointless.
Ugh.

As the President (and sole member) of the Rick Ankiel fan club, I object to that comment!
Must I school you on the value of intangibles?
In a reply to a comment to his blog post on last night's game...
Ben Goessling said something provocative about that situation.
On Ankiel, there are some things I can’t write, but suffice it to say the reason he’s still here is bigger than Riggleman. Same goes for Stairs and Cora.
Love how he says “some things I can’t write” and then he writes it anyway. here’s the context.
this is the team Rizzo assembled. he hand-picked every single on of them.

Riggs can only play who has, and he doesn't control that.
And while who he plays is “his” decision, I imagine it must be subject to at least some influence from above.

I would be pretty disappointed
to know that Rizzo has a hand in who plays day-to-day. That doesn’t ring true to me, Rizzo seems very organized and someone who keeps lines of responsibility clear, i.e. GM builds roster, Manager runs the team on the field. The anti-Vinnie Cerrato if you will.
I have no evidence for this opinion, just seems like how it should work and Rizzo seems to me to run things clearly and decisively.
This is pure speculation on my part...
…I wasn’t figuring something like “Play Cora at 3B tonight and move Nix up a spot in the order,” maybe more like, “Can you get Hairston some playing time this week? I’m shopping him to [team x].” I have no idea if stuff like this actually happens, but I can imagine that it might.

Nats have purchased the contract of RHP Ryan Mattheus, the chatter is that someone on the roster is going on the DL...

my guess is H-Rod.
they wouldn’t send Burnett out and leave themselves with no lefty.

Just saw that too, but didn't include in post since it's not official...
That’s disappointing if it’s something serious with Kimball.

Darn how many people have they added to the 40 man?
What happens say at the end of the year and they have to take all these people off the DL? That’ll mess everything up.. I hope Rizzo is pointing to his head right now…point Rizzo POINT!
Thanks, I wonder if the injury is real or not, I wish Severino was healthy this entire year, so we could DL Burnett
Sucks aboot Severino. I think Burnett will be ok as long as he's not hurt.
I imagine Kimball has options so they won’t have to use the DL game. I bet they’ll use it with Henry “ineffectively wild” Rodriguez if this crap keeps up.
He hasnt been "that" bad, the nats just need to use him differently
I wouldnt have him pitch in close games, and I would be willing to take him out if he shows no control, and replace him with Stammen
NPUT on roster moves.
Mattheus has contract purchased. Tatusko moves up to SYR. Zim to start for Syracuse on Saturday.

I think he will be there until he stops acting his age
Like it or not, I think he will not get to AA, might not get till A+, until he starts acting like a profesional
I don't like it
The Nats have plenty of “professional” players on the 25-man roster who are hurting the team’s chances for success.

I honestly don't understand why Stairs is still on the team other than the fact that
some beat reporter mentioned. Stairs IS Werth’s buddy and that may be the ONLY reason he is still on the team.

He's been plenty "professional"
I still think they are just waiting until after the SALLY allstar game.

When buying my tickets I just realized that the Sally league allstar game has a HR derby
a few hours before it. They had better let Bryce participate.
