Game 159: MAGIC PANTS!
- Needz moar d1ng3rz: Tommy Milone (-16.4%) only manages 4.1 IP with 3 ER on 4 Ks and 1 BB.
- To save the day: Craig Stammen (+13.5%) fans 3 over 1.2 innings of relief, although he allows the tying run on a wild pitch (-12.9%).
- Yes, sir, Captain Tight Pants: Ian Desmond (+40.5%) is 2-3 with a walk and a two-out, RBI double to tie it in the 4th (+12.6%), and a 9th-inning single to put two on (+12.9%).
- Should have sprinted: Todd Coffey (-24.9%) gives up the tying run (-21.6%) on an error by Jayson Werth (WPA punishes the pitcher, sorry).
- You sure you want to pitch to him here? Michael Morse (+58.2%) jacks a go-ahead, three-run bomb in the 9th (+71.0%).

Re pitching to Morse: McKeon was ready for a cigar...
and he’s definitely FIGMO, so why not?
Heh.
Can you do that 2 more times, Jack?
We’ll REALLY love you if you do!
Oh, and I’m proud of Henry for fighting through that inning and getting the Save. Not his best stuff, but he battled = Growth and progress.

Who better than Danyon?
And you’re not what you appear to be.
You’re a loser!
Just kidding. I was going back and forth between games too.
But I’m happy to say I saw The Beast’s ball leave the yard!
Right there with you
As the Nationals snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and the Redskins … did what the Redskins normally do. I missed all the scoring except for Morse’s bomb – yet another three pointer on a night that was full of them!
I couldn't watch the Redskins game.
Jaws slurping Romo when he was playing like shit was hard to take.
Aim for the head baby Jesus
I thought Romo was pretty good, actually
I got tired of all the hype about the “punctured lung,” but I thought that he played remarkably well given that his wide receiver corps basically consisted of a wounded Dez Bryand and four other guys while his center liked to play “ambush!” by snapping the ball at random moments when they lined up on the shotgun. There were at least three or four bad snaps. The remarkable thing is that the ones that hit the ground all bounced back to Romo.
I must have missed most of the worst slurping due to shifting between the football game, the Nats game, the Yankee game and the O’s-Red Sox game. I had a pretty full plate :-)
yet he wears the home whites, baggy and long....with the head shaving....
I assume the clubhouse is going out with a bang!!!…
