So, now that one person has come out and said that Davey is the best person for the manager in 2012
we can ignore the workings of the normal selection process like the Marlins did, right?
Does Davey saying it count? There might be bias?

Think beautiful thoughts, RobBob :-)
My beautiful thought
Next year’s Opening Day Nationals’ First Baseman?
Marrero? No.
LaRoche? Heck no.
Fielder? Bingo!

BTW I need to vent here...WJFK we need all the games on FM not some...
If I have to hear one more thing about the Skins…
Agreed ...
Although the WJFK deal is better than the WFED deal that they had previously.

So Norris stays at AA and Solano and Maldonado remain p/t minor league players?
Freitas and some of the other catchers are pushing for playing time, too. Given that this organization is SO deep in catchers, it’s hard to see how Pudge fits in. The only catchers that really have trade value are probably Ramos and Norris, and it’s hard to see trading either.
I predicted Norris at AA
but if they want Norris, and Leon to get majority playing time, I could see Norris at AAA. Solano is good, Norris is good, Leon is good, Freitas is good, and Nieto is good. Yay catching depth
MOAR SEVERINO!
Hey, Bob and FP,
you know why Stras threw that many pitches in the first inning last game? It’s because he wasn’t striking anyone out! Sheesh.
Rob
-- In baseball we trust.
Uh, no, it's because he gave up 3 runs
Strikeouts can rack up pitches if you get to a lot of full counts.
Pitches pile up ANY time you get a lot of full counts.
P2C does NOT decrease a pitcher’s pitch count, in general.
Rob
-- In baseball we trust.
4th Inning pitching report
Strasburg – 59 pitches, 38 strikes, 2 BB, 7 K, 0 ER
Volstad – 58 pitches, 39 strikes, 2 BB, 4 K, 0 ER

You'd have to be pretty indifferent for someone to reach that way.

that's only advancing a base
Hit
Walk

Personally I think he starts in Syracuse next year. Since he only plays one position, it’s hard to keep him as a backup/bench bat
Bix played TOO much and Lombo hasn't gotten much PT since the callup...
back to Syracuse for all of them…though I wouldn’t mind if Bix were simply ushered out of the system.

It’s easy to see what he offers, regardless of the outcomes of his plate appearances. He’s got a slow bat and not a lot of power.

error
hit by pitch

dropped third strike
fielder’s choice

I’m really interested in the idea of a Federal Baseball Anthem Sing next year at Nats Park :-)
Can you clap in rhythm?
Can you dance or make hand signals or better still do you know sign language? We’d be the first a capella group that I know of to have an in house signer…Thought and rebuttal please…
