Five Greatest Headlines of 2012
Having been entertained the last couple of weeks with Patrick's nostalgic look back at 2011, I figured I'd get ahead of the curve and go ahead and post my favorite headlines from 2012. As far as I know, all these things will happen just as will be reported!
These are, of course my opinions. Do you have better future moments in mind?
Number 5 (Jan 19, 2012):
Nationals, Fielder Agree to Historic Deal
Number 4 (Apr 5, 2012):
Harper, Strasburg Carry Nationals to Victory in Season Opener
Number 3 (Jun 17, 2012)
Fielder Slams Yankees for Sweep
Number 2 (Jul 10, 2012)
NL Wins Third Straight All-Star Game on Storen's Two Perfect Innings
Number 1 (Sep 30, 2012)

Well, as long as your in for fantasy, why not:
Nationals win improbable World Series; local man wins millions on bet.
Current odds...
I’ve been tossing around my WAG of the probability of the Nats winning the WS, estimating a .5% chance given the current team. I also suggested the number jumps to a number like 2.5% if they sign Fielder. Again, all WAGs, but I note that the original Las Vegas odds for the Nats winning the WS were set at 150:1 (estimating a .6% likelihood), and the current odds are 75:1 (~ 1.3%, no doubt reflecting the Gonzalez trade and the ongoing Fielder rumors).
Anyway, for a local man to win “millions” on the Nats WS championship, as of today he’d have to bet in the tens of thousands to hope to get there. Good Luck!

The only one I have some problem with is the opener headline
I would completely understand if the Nationals start Harper at AAA for a month just to keep him from being free agent eligible for an extra year. Ensuring one entire season of a 25 year old Harper at the cost of one month of a 19yo Harper would be well worth it to me. If he lights up AAA the way he did the AFL, then the heck with Super 2, bring him up. That only costs the team money, not production.
I'm dreaming big here...

By the way
Before anyone complains, I realize that these headlines ignore the terrific campaigns to be had by guys like Morse and (personal favorite) Zimmermann. It’s not an oversight or a slight — I only had five headlines to work with!

Not to mention the following that you omitted:
Headline: “Ramos Returns to Standing Ovation”
Subtitle: “Fan incessantly yelling ‘WIL-SON!’ escorted from the Park”
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!
A darn good thing, too.
“Hey, you! Can that ‘WIL-SON’ crap! I’m trying to sleep over here!”

They can't throw him out if everyone does it.
Hopefully it will sound something like this.

From the Harrisburg papers in September
Harrisburg infielder Anthony Rendon, after finishing a captivating first year in pro baseball is called up to Washington today….
Hello Nationals’ new 2nd baseman! adding he’s bat along with Fielder would make my head explode with excitement. I can’t wait. Thx RobBobS for letting us dream big.
"Morse, Zimmerman, Ramos homer as Strasburg shuts out Phillies 9-0"
Works for me.

Gotta love those 9-run wins
Not that that sort of thing has happened before. But I imagine those would be fun to watch.

HEADLINE: "Wilson Ramos' new lucky walk-up song suggested by fan."
Vivian Jaffe: "Have you ever transcended space and time?"
Albert Markovski: "Yes. No. Uh, time, not space... No, I don't know what you're talking about."

Hope he doesn't copy Cameron Maybin's:

RobBob... we actually agree!!!!
I have been told I have a man-crush on Zimmermann. So my prediction must be what I swear I actually wrote on this site about a year ago, that in 2012 the Nat’s top-2 will be as dominant as any other (okay, sure, Halladay-Lee and many others are there, but not too much of a reach compared to some of yours, no?)

I've really got to take my crystal ball in for maintenance
Jan 19 seemed so clear…
