Mike Trout was an Anaheim Angels' 1st Round pick in 2009, taken 25th overall out of high school in Millville, NJ. Bryce Harper was the no.1 overall pick in 2010, drafted out of junior college at the College of Southern Nevada. The two 2012 All-Stars played together in the Arizona Fall League last October/November where Harper posted a .333/.400/.634 line with six doubles, two triples and six home runs in 25 games and 93 at bats and Trout (who was tired after a long 2011 season) had a .245/.279/.321 line with five doubles and one home run in 25 games and 106 AB's. Trout, 20, started the 2012 campaign at Triple-A Salt Lake, but after posting a .403/.467/.623 line with four doubles, five triples and a home run in 20 games and 90 plate appearances, he was called up to Anaheim, where he's put up a .341/.397/.562 line with 15 doubles, three triples and 12 HR's in 64 games and 290 PA's with a league-leading 26 stolen bases in 29 attempts. Harper was called up by the Nats on April 28th for a series with the Dodgers in LA. In 63 games and 277 plate appearances since his major league debut, the 19-year-old outfielder has a .282/.354/.472 line with 15 doubles, four triples, eight home runs and 10 stolen bases.

Trout was named to the AL roster. Harper was added to the NL roster after injuries opened up a spot. MLB got the next generation superstars in the game and they'll be in the national spotlight tonight. The two youngsters led off the broadcast of the MLB Network's MLB Tonight last night, with Trout joking in the interview that, "[Harper has] been rated number one prospect since he was, I don’t know, four years old [or] five years old," and Harper marveling at Trout's ridiculous leaping grab from earlier this season.
