This may have slipped through the cracks here at Federal Baseball (or maybe just by me) but Roger Bernadina has been confirmed to be representing the Netherlands Kingdom in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Full rosters haven't been released yet, so why not take the time to speculate which other Washington players may be called upon for National duty?

I would think that Harper and Desmond have the best chances of anybody to make Team USA. Yunesky Maya played for Cuba in the first two WBCs are one has to presume he may once more. Between Ramos, Leon and Maldonado we may see a National catching for Venezuela (or even the recently departed Jesus Flores). But this is all speculation from a half-informed fan, we won't know for sure who's on the team until the games start.
