Has anyone tried to use the Nationals Ticket Exchange and what has your experience been? Mine has been needlessly frustrating and short on resolution.
For those who don't know, the Nationals were struck by the "good idea ticket fairy" this year and have turned to "ticketless" tickets, which seemingly is a good idea in theory. Season ticket holders would be able to trade in tickets/parking passes online for tickets and parking to games better suited to their schedule or otherwise, while avoiding trips to Nats park ticket counters to make the trade. One would think that trading in tickets online and receiving the requested new games would be almost instantaneous, but in practice this process has taken WEEKS and one doesn't know if they have tickets/parking for games until the day before/day of the game. This is coupled with the fact that the requester receives no information regarding ticket/section/row/seat availability for the requested games.
To recap, the Nationals have chosen to end in person ticketing services, and while one might have to wait in line, one could do all of their business on the same day with a human. Instead, they have opted to go with a system that takes weeks, with no information on ticketing availability. Furthermore, the National will not allow season ticket holders to visit ticketing to trade in tickets, online only. Has this been others' experience? Has anyone discovered a work around? Would love to hear your thoughts. I have emailed and complained, but it seems things are unlikely to change absent sustained pressure from a group of us.
