The Washington Nationals announced this afternoon that they signed 30-year-old, eight-year veteran Mark Lowe to a minor league deal:

Lowe, who's pitched for the Seattle Mariners (2006-10) who drafted him in the 5th Round of the 2004 Draft, the Texas Rangers (2010-12) and LA Angels (2013), has a 4.17 ERA, 4.17 FIP, 4.07 BB/9 and 7.74 K/9 in 264 games and 274.1 IP over the course of his career. The 6'3'', 210 lb right-hander had a 9.26 ERA in 11.2 IP in Los Angeles earlier this season, but he was placed on waivers when Jered Weaver returned from the DL. Lowe was release by the Angels on June 6th. Lowe's the second reliever added to the Nats' top affiliate in the last week. Washington selected LHP Tyler Robertson off waivers from Minnesota back on June 7th and assigned the left-hander to Triple-A as well.
