Throw Back Uniforms

What really is the point of the ridiculous looking throwback uniforms that MLB continues to foist on the fans and I suspect players? Those baggy, loose fitting sacks must be distracting and uncomfortable for the players. I understand that they are supposed to celebrate the history of the Negro Leagues from the 1920s-40s, a period when the whole country including major league baseball suffered from blatant racism. Since the number of fans still around from the 1920s-40s years are undoubtedly few in number, I think a better tribute to the great African American players of that era would be for major league baseball to support real efforts to promote baseball in our high schools that might encourage a larger number of our youth to pursue baseball.
