Hitter to Watch
Hanley Ramirez

Let's talk about the Dodgers player who has provided them with a .386/.444/.693 line so far this season, someone who has helped the Dodgers make a run back into playoff contention. And someone who has had a fine career until injuries moved him from the minds of baseball fans. That's right, I'm not talking about Yasiel Puig.

Ramirez is having his best season in a while, but really, is the same player he was before the injuries. Ramirez also has a BABIP that is much closer to average than that of his rookie teammate's. Ramirez has a mark of .387 compared to Puig's remarkable and unsustainable .470. Expect that crash back to earth anytime now. (Hopefully this weekend.) Ramirez is still among the game's best shortstops but has been mostly forgotten due to PuigMania. Ramirez's health and contributions will be more important to the Dodgers playoff hopes than Puig, even if no one really talks about it.

Pitcher to Watch
Paco Rodriguez

The 21-year old Rodriguez is very similar to Ian Krol and Fernando Abad of the Nationals - a left handed reliever who is not only effective against left-handed hitters. 20 of Rodriguez's 45 games have been at least one inning and he is just as effective so far this season against righties as lefties. Against a team that has struggled as much as the Nationals have against left handed pitching, his role in the series will probably be a big one.
