I've seen blind people read books, go to movie theaters, rent DVDs, navigate washingtons metro system without a seeing eye dog. But until last night I have never seen a blind man attempt to be an umpire in a professional baseball game. Sad to say Stevie wonder could have done better than that fat, squat pilé of human excretment: oh, maybe it was Stevie wonder. No wait, Stevie was at some benefit somewhere. So who was that big, fat pile of excretment who completely lost what little sight he had when he missed the no tag and called the runner out? Has MLB now instituted a program to hire umpires from the Helen Keller School of the Blind? Talk about breaking barriers; a big fat squat pile of human excretment who is also blind got a job as a MLB umpire. Isn't America great?
