Washington Nationals' 2012 1st Round pick Lucas Giolito was named the 11th overall prospect in baseball when MLB.com released their updated list of the Top 100 prospects list last night.
The no.1 prospect in the Nats' organization was also named the South Atlantic League's Pitcher of the week this afternoon...

In his July 25th start for the Suns, Eli Pearlstein wrote on Hagerstown's official site today, in announcing that the right-hander was named the SAL POTW, Giolito, who turned 20 a few weeks back, "tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just one infield hit while striking out seven and not walking a batter to earn the win. The one hit he allowed was to the first hitter of the game, but he then proceeded to retire 18 in a row," and he has now, "... won each of his last four decisions."
So far this season, Giolito is (6-2) with a 2.34 ERA, 3.42 FIP, 25 walks (2.92 BB/9) and 88 Ks (10.29 K/9) in 16 starts and 77 IP. He pitched in the MLB All-Star Futures Game during the All-Star festivities in Minnesota. And now he's featured in a VICE Sports' production which profiles the Nationals' top prospect's life in the minor leagues:
Lucas Giolito is the #1 prospect in the Nationals system. For now, he lives in a basement. http://t.co/gF2KY84yr6 pic.twitter.com/ufKxm2CcUI
