Washington Nationals' GM Mike Rizzo has choice words for Cole Hamels

"It was a gutless chicken [bleep] [bleeping] act," Mike Rizzo Washington Nationals' GM Mike Rizzo made it abundantly clear this morning how he felt about Cole Hamels' purpose pitch, which hit Bryce Harper squarely between the numbers with two outs in the the first inning of what ended up a 9-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday. In an interview with The Washington Post's Adam Kilgore, Rizzo said, among other things, "Cole Hamels says he’s old school? He’s the polar opposite of old school. He’s fake tough. He thinks he’s going to intimidate us after hitting our 19-year rookie who’s eight games into the big leagues? He doesn’t know who he’s dealing with." With the emotions that ran high all weekend, the beaning, subsequent stealing of home by said 19-year old rookie, and now Rizzo's public tirade, this rivalry -- that has been for the most part one-sided through history -- has been elevated to a whole new level. The next time the Nats face the Phillies is May 21-23 in Philadelphia. Natitude, indeed.
