According to USA Today baseball writer Bob Nightengale (@bnightengale), College of Southern Nevada catcher/outfielder Bryce Harper was ejected from tonight's NJCAA Tournament game: "#mlb Bryce Harper just got ejected from his first tournament game, arguing a called third strike." In a follow-up Tweet, Mr. Nightengale speculated: "Harper's ejection means that he could be missing the next game as well, barring an appeal..."

According to DC GM Mike Rizzo, as quoted in MLB.com's Bill Ladson's article entitled, "Nats not locked in on top Draft pick", the, "...the club has not revealed its intentions for the first pick," with the Nats, according to Mr. Ladson's "baseball source": "...taking serious looks at pitchers Drew Pomeranz of the University of Mississippi and Jameson Taillon of The Woodlands (Texas) High School and shortstop Manny Machado of Brito High School in Miami." Harper, the 17-year-old College of Southern Nevada catcher, was 0 for 4 with a run scored and a walk in a NJCAA Regional win over Southern Idaho on Thursday, and they're playing Salt Lake Community College today.
