Nats News Network Talks To Former Nats' Skipper Manny Acta.


158-252 in his time at the helm of the Washington Nationals, current Indians' and former Nats' Skipper Manny Acta was the most unassuming divisive figure in DC baseball for a time. Before Washington and Cleveland meet this weekend in Interleague play, Mr. Acta was nice enough to exchange emails with the Nats News Network's Dave Nichols, who posted the resultant interview this morning. • It's a great read, check it out HERE or in the title link.

Garrett Mock Recalled From Triple-A, Ross Detwiler Sent To Syracuse...

MASNSports.com's Pete McElroy put up a post game note reporting that the Nationals have recalled right-hander Garrett Mock with lefty Ross Detwiler being sent down to make his first stop at Triple-AAA after jumping from Double-AA Harrisburg to DC earlier this season. Mock, 26, was in the midst of a stretch of five-straight wins over which he'd allowed just 2 ER in his last 35.0 IP. In 13 games with DC this season, Mock was (0-2) with a 6.92 ERA in 13.0 IP. I was unable to join in on the teleconference the Washington Nationals had with the non-traditional media this morning, though the Nationals were kind enough to provide me the opportunity to do so had I been available...but since I wasn't I asked Dave from the Nats News Network if he'd mind me just linking to his report on the phone interview with team President Stan Kasten, Ryan Zimmerman, Adam Dunn, Joe Beimel and Manager Manny Acta, and he was kindly willing to allow me to do so... According to MLB.com's Bill Ladson's article entitled, "Nats tap Lannan for Opening Day start", DC Manager Manny Acta will make the announcement tomorrow...Mr. Ladson also reports it's Scott Olsen and Daniel Cabrera after Lannan...Who will be #4? #5? John "Cool Hand" Lannan on Opening Day!! Now what about the outfield? Sorry...
