Can't get enough of Arbutus

Corey Patterson Watch lasted about as long as inJustice will last---perhaps a bit longer, but who's counting. Today, the Cubs traded Patterson to the (Baltimore) Orioles for two guys named Gabbo. And the Tribune thought Jim Hendry was going to get his dirty paws on our unlovable little malcontent, Alfonso Soriano; oh, suuuuuure . . .

Speaking of which, I don't want to toot my own horn, but---

Well, let's face it: who knows how much stuff I get right over here, so when I do, I'm going to truth pimp a bit:

If you want my opinion, I think Patterson's headed to Baltimore.

Darn. I should have labeled that one my stone cold, lead pipe lock-of-the-week.

Anyway, good for the O's, I say. Patterson might not turn it around; in fact, save a nice half season in 2003, there's not a whole lot on his ledger to turn around. But the O's didn't give up much, and the guy was presumably a top prospect at some point in the fairly recent past for some reason. So we'll see.

In the meantime, I'll comment that the way this thing went down is something of a pity---it wasted a perfectly fine post by Banks of the Anacostia, who from all appearances majored in Perfectly Fine Posts.
