About a week ago, many Nats bloggers noted an article by MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo about the Triple-A Zephyrs and their Opening Day ceremony in honor of the renovation of the West Bank Boys & Girls Club in New Orleans.
There is now a donation page provided by the Magical Builders, who will be performing the renovation. The Magical Builders program is an initiative of the Frank Foundation, which is enlisting the public's help:
Major League Baseball, MLB.com and The Frank Foundation have teamed up to renovate the West Bank Boys & Girls Club in connection with the New Orleans Zephyrs home opener on April 6th. This Club has been closed since Hurricane Katrina due to damage caused by the storm. Magical Builders is accepting donations for specific items to make this effort a success. You can help buy a toilet or a basketball net for kids in need. Or, as always, we are grateful for cash donations as well.
Items to be donated run from $5 to $50,000. In addition, as noted above, the Magical Builders also accept simple cash donations. If you're looking to provide charity to a worthy cause, this one sounds like it should be high on a baseball fan's list.
