Game three of three at Coors Field, Denver, Colorado features:
Joel Hanrahan (3-1, 3.42) vs Elmer Dessens (1-1, 6.66!!!)
Game three of three at 3:05 eastern standard time from the Mile High city of Denver, Colorado, finds the Washington Nationals looking to avoid being swept by the Rockies in the weekend series, while the Rockies look to do the sweeping to keep themselves within reach of the NL Wild Card lead.
Joel Hanrahan will be making his sixth Major League start, and first against Colorado, against the well-traveled Rockies righty Elmer Dessens, who has pitched portions of five seasons with the Dodgers, Royals, and Brewers and makes the 137th start of his (47-60) career, which includes 5 starts and 19 appearances against the Nationals franchise during which he's compiled a (3-1) record against the team with a 3.80 ERA in 42.2 innings of work.
None of the Nationals hitters have much of a history with Dessens, and it's the first time around for all the hitters with Hanrahan. The Nationals look to salvage one on the road in CO before heading to LA for a three game series which starts tomorrow night at 7:00 West coast time.
It's Getaway Day, anyone watching?...
