- DC's Own DC Daniel Cabrera Firing Wild Fastballs...
In case you're not familiar with Cards' starter Mitchell Boggs, he's a 6'3'' right-hander out of Dalton, Georgia, who was a 2005 5th Round pick out of the University of GA. Boggs debuted on June 6, 2008 after working his way through the St. Louis' system, compiling a (34-20) record over parts of five seasons, (including one Triple-A start this year), in which he's posted a 3.60 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP with 388 K's in 500.1 IP. Boggs has one start and one relief appearance in so far this season, winning his start and earning a hold out of the pen, and he faces the Washington Nationals for the first time tonight.
DC's Daniel Cabrera has yet to face St. Louis in his 6-year MLB career, most of which, obviously, was spent in the American League with Baltimore. At home in DC so far in '09, Cabrera hasn't figured in the outcome of either of his two starts, and he's allowed 9 hits, 6 ER, 1 HR and 6 walks, with 2 K's, a 2.70 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP on the hill in Nationals Park.
