VOTE ZIM!!! -

In case you didn't see the reports yesterday, the Washington Nationals' third baseman, the Face of the Franchise©, the kid they call Zim, Ryan Zimmerman jumped from 4th to 2nd in All-Star balloting in the latest returns released yesterday afternoon. MLB.com's Bill Ladson wrote about the rise of Zimmerman in an article entitled, "Zimmerman moves up in All-Star voting", in which Mr. Ladson noted that Zimmerman's behind only David Wright now, with the voting to continue for one more month, ending on July 2nd at 11:59 pm. That gives us all a month to push Zimmerman over the top, and while acknowledging the fact that this is a popularity contest more than a recognition of achievement, it's about time the Nationals had someone elected to the ASG instead of named.
