Washington Nationals Now Interested In Doug Davis?

• 34-year-old free agent left-hander Doug Davis, (who spent the last three seasons in Arizona, going (28-34) with a 4.22 ERA (111 ERA+) in 93 starts and 542.0 IP over which he allowed 9.5 H/9, 4.4 BB/9 and 1.0 HR/9 with 6.7 K/9 innings recorded and a 1.54 WHIP posted as a D-Backs' starter), spoke to MLB.com's Bill Ladson earlier this week for an article entitled, "Davis has interest in Nationals", wherein Mr. Ladson wrote that Davis, "...would like to play for the Nationals and help their young pitching staff, but he doesn't think he will play in Washington," because the Nationals are currently preoccupied by trying, "...to address other needs such as finding a second baseman." While the Nationals have in fact continued to pursue a middle infielder, with the choice seemingly narrowed to either Orlando Hudson or Adam KennedyFOXSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal are reporting today, in an update of FOXSports.com's "Buzz: Latest from the MLB offseason", which is subtitled, "Free agent LHP Davis draws interest from Twins, Brewers", that in addition to the attentions of the titular teams, the FOXSports.com writer's unnamed "major-league source", believes, "(Doug) Davis is also drawing interest from the Mets and Nationals."
