Washington Nationals: Sunday Morning Rumors, Bloomberg Sports.

• So I'm scanning the latest updates to FOXSports.com's "Buzz: Latest from the MLB offseason" when I see the Washington Nationals mentioned in an article about free agent right-hander Kris Benson, with FOXSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi writing that though Benson's agent, "...declined to say if any of them had made contact," many of the teams believed to have been pursuing Ben Sheets, including the Nationals, might now be turning their attention towards Benson...Kris Benson? That name sent me to the archives...

• December 18, 2007. "Count the Nationals as one of the teams interested in right-hander Kris Benson," MLB.com's Bill Ladson wrote, in an article entitled, "Nationals interested in Benson", which reported that then-Assistant GM Mike Rizzo had been in attendance when the then-33-year-old pitcher had thrown for scouts...

(ed. note - "That's all for the late night rumors...On Sunday afternoon I'll be attending an event in New York City hosted by Bloomberg Sports and MLB.com which promises, "a sneak preview of the premier state-of-the-art analytics products for sports." If you missed it, there was an interesting article about what Bloomberg Sports is trying to do in the New York Times a few weeks back written by Richard Sandomir which is entitled, "Bloomberg Technology Embraces Baseball", that first looked at what Boomberg Sports was doing. I'll put the Twitter feed below (on the odd chance it might work for once) for anyone not into Twitter or not following @federalbaseball where I'll post some photos and notes throughout the day.")
