Wire Taps: Washington Nationals Not Trading Adam Dunn For Edwin Jackson According To Reports...

If the source of this latest update wasn't quoting another source I'd be less likely to believe, but within the last few minutes, former DC GM Jim Bowden posted the following message via his Twitter account (@JimBowdenXMFOX):

"Tim Kurkjian of ESPN reporting that Nationals told him directly they are NOT trading Dunn to White Sox for Edwin Jackson."

So they're trading him for someone else? Ahhh, ambiguity...

As has been reported earlier this afternoon, the White Sox and Diamondbacks completed a trade that sent Jackson to Chicago in return for RHP Daniel Hudson and LHP David Holmberg, which had many speculating that Jackson might then be flipped to the Nats who reportedly covet the 26-year-old right-handed Jackson.

USA Today's Bob Nightengale (@bnightengale), however, is still reporting within the last few minutes that the White Sox are still, "...focused only on Dunn; not Berkman or Fielder."

Meanwhile, MLB.com's Bill Ladson (@washingnats) has humorously been providing hourly updates on Adam Dunn's activities:

"As of 1:12 p.m. ET, #Nats 1B Adam Dunn is at the movies and has not been told anything -- traded or extension."

...More news rumors when it's they're available...
