NatsInsider/CSNWashington.com writer Mark Zuckerman (@MarkZuckerman), citing a report by Mark DeCotis of Florida Today, wrote on Twitter this morning that rehabbing Nats' '09 no.1 overall pick "[Stephen] Strasburg threw 3 [innings] (51 pitches) in [a simulated] game this [morning] vs GCL #Nats players. None hit ball out of infield, acc to Mark DeCotis of Fla Today." GCL is, of course the Gulf Coast League for anyone who's unaware. Strasburg, as several stories in the last few days have reported is about 7 to 10 (or 6 to 9?) days away from his first minor league rehab start...We won't be guessing as to the date of Strasburg's first minor league start here, because I don't want folks buying tickets to a specific game based on our suggestion until the date is official, but as soon as they announce it, we'll be sure to pass it on...For now, enjoy some footage of Strasburg hard at work on his way back:
