• So... According to reports out of Florida this morning (as the Washington Nationals prepare to take on the Miami Marlins at 1:05 pm EDT live from Space Coast Stadium in a game that's being broadcast on 106.7 the FAN in DC, 1500 WFED and MLB Gameday Audio), Nats' outfielder Michael Morse had an MRI that showed nothing but the strained lat the big slugger was diagnosed with earlier this Spring. The injury has limited Morse to just three games and seven Grapefruit League at bats so far. Adam LaRoche's foot is still bothering him, so he's not going to play either... and Rick Ankiel's still dealing with a hamstring (or apparently a quad) issue so he's unavailable. As the Washington Times' Amanda Comak (@AComak) reported on the Twitter this morning, "Morse, LaRoche and Rick Ankiel (hamstring) all instructed to get treatment and then allowed to hit on minor lg. side of camp."

Meanwhile, Jordan Zimmermann is set to make his third start of the Spring this afternoon with the 25-year-old right-hander looking to rebound from a 3.2 inning outing last time out against St. Louis in which he gave up seven hits and four runs, all earned. Zimmermann will be backed up by a lineup composed mostly of regulars with bench options Chad Tracy and Mark DeRosa filling in where Morse and LaRoche would likely be if they were healthy and Bryce Harper getting another start in center field. Here's the lineup that will face the Marlins' 25-year-old '08 18th Round pick, right-hander Tom Koehler:

  1. Ian Desmond - SS
  2. Danny Espinosa - 2B
  3. Ryan Zimmerman - 3B (Word.)
  4. Mark DeRosa - DH
  5. Chad Tracy - 1B
  6. Jayson Werth - RF
  7. Wilson Ramos - C
  8. Bryce Harper - CF
  9. Roger Bernadina - LF
  10. Jordan Zimmermann - SP
