Game 65: There seems to be a weak spot in the rotation

Tonight's game story: Nats lose, but the doctor(er) is out.

Chart_medium

  • The losing margin: Chien-Ming Wang (-44.2%) gets the first 10 outs but gives up 5 ER on 7 hits, striking out only 1 and walking 3, including the opposing pitcher--the opposing AL pitcher!
  • I forsee a roster reversal: Ross Detwiler (+11.3%) records the next 11 outs, striking out 3, walking none, and giving up no runs for a shutdown.
  • The Beast awakens: Michael Morse (+27.9%) gets the Nats on the board with a run-scoring ROE (+10.0%) and later gets them within one on a two-run bomb (+19.5%).
  • Hardly clutch at all: Ian Desmond (+6.2%) hits a go-ahead solo shot in the 2nd to give the Nats a brief lead (+11.7%).
  • Rally killers: Ryan Zimmerman (-14.7%) and Adam LaRoche (-15.7%) go 1-8 with 4 LOB and a pair of double plays.
