  • Roast-wiler: Ross Detwiler (-17.5%) only makes it through 4.2 IP on 2 Ks, 1 BB, 2 HBP, and 5 runs.
  • Not a meltdown? Craig Stammen (-5.3%) lets in 3 runs (including one of Ross'), buts eats 2.1 innings in a game Davey wrote off early, striking out 4 and walking 1.
  • Punchless: Bryce Harper (-3.7%) records the Nats biggest offensive WPA play with a first-inning single (+2.4%), which was canceled out by the Nats worst offensive WPA play when he was CS (-4.0%).
  • Bright side? The 9th-inning, two-run rally, while encouraging, was too little, too late to budge the WPA needle much. At least Drew Storen (+0.1%) threw a scoreless 8th.

(H/t to cat daddy3000 in the game thread for the title. He did hero's work with the pbp today for all of us in too much pain at the awfulness to listen or watch. His effort embiggens us all.)
