  • P2K is better: John Lannan (+2.2%) gets through 6+ innings on 3 ER with 4 Ks, 5 BBs, and good run support. Gio Gonzalez (-19.8%) makes it through 8 IP on 10 Ks and 4 BBs, but has a disastrous, 3-ER P2C experiment in the 6th.
  • Daytimers: Adam LaRoche (+24.2%) is 3-4 with an RBI walk, RBI single, and an HR in game 1, and he is 0-4 in game 2 (-6.5%). Mark DeRosa (+18.3%) has a 2-run single in game 1 (+17.5%), and sits out game 2.
  • Big Mo: Steve Lombardozzi (+5.0%) triples to lead off game 2 (+9.7%), while Michael Morse (+11.6%) is 2-4 with an ROE.
  • Sleepytime: No one other than Mikey Mo and Lombo has positive WPA in game 2.

*(H/t for the title to the bitter fan next to me who was chanting this after the 29th consecutive successful hit-and-run against the Nats in game 2. Or at least it seemed like there were 29.)
