New, comments

Are the Oakland A's a team of density? Can the Athletics spare us from a Boston/Detroit, LA/St.Louis end to the season? We'll find out tonight as the A's and Tigers play Game 5 of the ALDS at 8:00 PM EDT in the O.co Coliseum.

• ALDS Game 5 - Sonny Gray made quite an impression in his first postseason start, holding the Detroit Tigers to four hits in 8.0 scoreless innings of work in the Oakland A's 1-0 win in Game 2 of the five-game ALDS. Justin Verlander threw 7.0 scoreless that night, giving up just four hits as well, but he received no decision. Tonight they match up again in Game 5 of the ALDS as the A's and Tigers play one more to decide who moves on to face the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS.
