Burnett doomed the Bucs in Game 1 of the NLDS in Busch Stadium in St. Louis as Pittsburgh lost the first game of the first postseason series the franchise has played in since 1992. Cards' starter Adam Wainwright held the Pirates' hitters to one run on three hits and gave up just a solo home run by Pedro Alvarez in what ended up a 9-1 game in the home team's favor.
