Game 11 WPA: Just a perfect day. Nats 1, ATL 3

Erratic pitching, absent offense, circus fielding, and Ramos got hurt! Yay! Worst of all, the kid sitting behind me kept kicking my seat. BASEBALL!!

  • He didn't look as good as his line: Stephen Strasburg (+2.5%) labors through 6 IP, with 7 Ks, 1 BB and no ER. However, an ROE costs when he gives up a 2-run HR for the losing margin (-21.6%).
  • Rally killaz: Jayson Werth (-9.7%) flies out to center and Denard Span (-2.0%) gets doubled off second somehow in the first (-9.7%). Adam LaRoche (-13.0%) is 0-3 and hits into a DP in the 2nd (-7.6%).
  • I've seen worse meltdowns. Yesterday, in fact. Three times: Ryan Mattheus (-7.1%) gives up 3 hits and a run in the aeyth.
  • Look! Positive hitter WPA! Danny Espinosa (+5.7%) hits a solo shot to get the Nats on the board (+12.6%).

Footnote: Bryce Harper (-9.3%) had a nice throw to home giving Wilson Ramos (-6.3%) an easy tag play at the plate. It was worth +4.4% WPA, which was outweighed by Harper's groundout to the pitcher to start the 7th (-4.7%).
