Game 23 WPA: P2Z(N) > All. Nats 1, Reds 0.

J-Zim throws a heck of a ballgame, while Bam-Bam and the WereWerth provide just enough offense against a tough pitcher. My only complaint is that it was over so quickly.

  • P2AW3S0ME: Jordan Zimmermann (+70.9%) racks up more WPA pitching that I've ever seen before, throwing a one-hit, complete-game shutout, striking out 4 and walking 1 on only 92 pitches. Wow.
  • Man without hat: Bryce Harper (-1.4%) hits a one-out triple in the 4th (+9.1%), leaving his batting helmet somewhere between first and second.
  • Can be werewolves be clutch? Jayson Werth (+7.8%) is 2-3 with an RBI single to score Harper in the 4th for the winning run.
  • Instant Karma: Denard Span (+0.4%) is 1-4 with a "stolen" base in the 6th (stolen via bad call, that is). He gets thrown out at home later that inning trying to score from 3rd on a Harper bouncer to the pitcher (-7.5%).
