Zack Greinke's made just two career starts against the Washington Nationals he once contemplated joining. In those two outings, the 29-year-old right-hander is (2-0) with a 1.93 ERA, 1 HR (0.64 HR/9) and 1 BB (0.64 BB/9) allowed and 15 Ks (9.64 K/9) collected over 14.0 IP in which he has a 0.64 WHIP. Greinke returns from a fractured collarbone suffered in an on field brawl with the San Diego Padres' Carlos Quentin. The 10-year-veteran and one-time Cy Young Award-winner made one start with the Dodgers' Class A Advance affiliate, the Rancho Cucamong Quakes before, as LA skipper Don Mattingly told MLB.com's Ken Gurnick and Austin Laymance, he determined that, "'He feels like he's ready. His stuff kind of tells us he's ready. He wants to pitch.'" Greinke will be facing a Nats' lineup that's once again missing 20-year-old slugger Bryce Harper, though Davey Johnson told reporters this afternoon (as Mike Rizzo said today) that Harper needed no additional testing and could be available to pinch hit:
Davey said Harper had no additional concussion tests and Davey downplayed nausea issue. Harper did running earlier, will take full BP.

Ross Detwiler's on the mound for the Nationals tonight in the rubber match of the three-game set with the Dodgers. The '07 1st Round pick has faced LA four times in his career, three times as a starter and he's (1-1) against Los Angeles with a 3.10 ERA, 2 HRs (0.89 HR/9) allowed, 7 BB (3.10 BB/9) issued, 11 Ks (4.87 K/9) recorded and a 1.08 WHIP in 20.1 IP. Detwiler makes his eighth start of the season tonight in Dodger Stadium. Here's the lineup that will be backing the lefty up in game three of three:
