Game 41 WPA: That's more like it. Nats 6, Pads 2

Stras goes deep into the game, ALR goes deep into right-center, and the Nats score both early and late in the game with hits, walks, and HRs.

  • Getting there: Stephen Strasburg (+23.1%) goes 8 IP, with 4Ks and 3 BBs, but only 1 ER (2 runs) on a stingy 3 H. MOAR P2K! FEWER WALKS!
  • I need to write another Espinosa article: Adam LaRoche (+28.7%) has now pretty much guaranteed himself a "new and improved" stat post, going 1-3 with a walk and a two-run bomb that would have cleared the old, ridiculous Petco right-center fence to put the Nats ahead (+23.3%) and extend his current hitting streak to 13 games.
  • Yeah, but what about the power? Ryan Zimmerman (+14.9%) is 1-2 with a pair of walks and a two-out, two-RBI single in the 5th (+8.2%). Work on the throwing, by the way.
  • Banged up: Bryce Harper (-4.0%) is 1-3, running into an out after reaching on error (-4.9%), but hitting a stat-padding solo shot in junk time (+4.7%).
