Game 64 WPA: The hero of Surigao. Nats 5, Rox 1

Ohlendorf goes 6 solid, holding the Rockies to one run. The bullpen is perfect, and the Nats string together hits in the same inning to score more than one run! Inconceivable!

  • EVERYONE DO THE 'DORF! Ross Ohlendorf (+33.6%) and his old-school windup hold the Rox to 1 ER in 6 IP on 2 Ks and 2 BBs. Beautiful, but let's not press our luck.
  • Getting to be a bit of cliche, really: Ian Desmond (+20.3%) is the right man in the right place, with some nifty defense and a 2-3 day the plate, with a walk and an RBI single in the 4th for the early lead (+9.4%) and a two-RBI single in the 6th to tack on (+12.9%).
  • Thrown-in throws well: Ian Krol (+7.9%) earns a shutdown by throwing a perfect 7th with 2 Ks.
  • Also good at baseball: Ryan Zimmerman (+11.5%) defies his June proclivities by going 2-3 with 2 walks and an RBI double in the 6th for the winning tally (+12.2%).
