I picked the right day to spend having out with friends from out of town, as Haren apparently didn't keep the ball down (to put it mildly).

Boos well earned.

  • Hard-hit: Dan Haren (-31.1%) fans 5 and walks none in 3.1 IP, which would be good for a long relief appearance... if he hadn't given up 6 ER, that is.
  • Second look for desperation rotation spot? Ross Ohlendorf (-0.3%) eats innings like they give him magic powers, going 4.1 after Haren's meltdown, with 4 Ks, no walks, and 1 ER.
  • Green shoots: Denard Span (+3.2%) goes 2-4 to make him tonight's Nats WPA leader.
  • Stat padderz: Ryan Zimmerman (-6.2%) his a junktime dinger to get the Nats on the board (+0.1%), while Anthony Rendon (-2.1%) has the Nats' highest WPA play with a first-inning double.
