What's the genesis of the Mongoose nickname?



from the archives.....a late night Lannan vs Lincecum pitchers' duel in San Francisco...

Mongoose beat out "Random Animal", as there were other animal nicknames at the time...Shark, Bambi.... and Desi needed one of his own...
