It's nice to have a win going into the break, but it would a lot nicer to be more than one game over .500.

  • Get him a win, jerks: Taylor Jordan (+1.2%) fans 4 and walks none over 6 IP, giving up only 2 ER. Enjoy your no-decision, Taylor! Maybe you'll get a win next season--it's a meaningless stat, anyway.
  • #Ready? Anthony Rendon (+20.5%) is 2-5 with a two-out, RBI double to tie the game in the 7th (+23.1%).
  • Redeemed: Denard Span (+48.4%) is productive out of the leadoff spot, with a second-inning RBI double for the early lead (+12.4%) and a go-ahead, RBI double in extras for the winning tally (+40.7%).
  • Shutdowns: Drew Storen (+8.7%) gets two outs to finish the 7th, while Tyler Clippard (+10.2%) strikes out the side in the aeyth, and Craig Stammen (+13.0%) throws a clean 10th to keep the game tied.
  • Ironic cheer: Jayson Werth (-15.5%) is 2-5, but flies out with the bases loaded to end the 7th in a tie game (-12.0%).

Again the font of wisdom, DEVO has the right take for the second half:
