The Nats get Gio the win on his birthday, but DSpan's streak ends at 29. ::sad::

  • Go, Gio! Gio Gonzalez (+9.8%) isn't exactly sharp, with 3 Ks, 2 BBs and 7 hits over 6 IP, but only allows 2 ER.  It's good enough.
  • Quick strike: Bryce Harper (+26.3%) lines a three-run dinger over the out of the town scoreboard in the 1st for the winning (and only) runs (+25.0%).
  • Also hitting: Harp was 3-4, as was Ryan Zimmerman (+3.6%). Ian Desmond (+4.3%) was 2-3, although I could have sworn he struck out 8 times.
  • Only a bit interesting: Drew Storen (+9.2%), Tyler Clippard (+11.5%), and Rafael Soriano (+15.2%) earn shutdowns for scoreless 7th, aeyth, and 9th innings, in spite of giving up 2 hits and 3 walks among them.
  • Unhelpful: Wilson Ramos (-20.4%) is 0-4 with 3 LOB, hitting into two double plays.
