Nationals announce 2015 Spring Training schedule

The Washington Nationals are still calling Viera, Florida's Space Coast Stadium home, and this afternoon the defending NL East champs announced their 2015 Spring Training schedule. Game 1 of Grapefruit League action takes place on March 5th.

The Washington Nationals' 2015 campaign starts on April 6th against the New York Mets in the nation's capital, but before they get to the regular season games, there will be Grapefruit League action.

The Nats announced their 2015 Spring Training schedule this afternoon and it too starts with a game against their NL East rivals from New York.

The Nationals and Mets meet for the first time in competitive action on Thursday, March 5th in Viera, Florida's Space Coast Stadium.

The defending NL East division champs will play 30 Grapefruit League games in preparation for the new season 14 of them in their spring home.

Some highlights?

Sunday March 8th is a game against the Yankees in New York's spring home.

The Nationals' press release on the Spring schedule notes that six of the first ten Grapefruit League games will take place at home in Space Coast Stadium if you're planning on going to Florida for some early season baseball action.

The Nationals finished the 2014 Grapefruit League campaign 15-13 then went on to win 96 games and the NL East. They start all over again on March 5th.
